Immortal Love

Lost in thoughts he was observing and feeling the pleasant cold weather which was evident of the frankness of the land. Mountain tops which wore white caps of snow. The running water of the sea which had a rhythm of its own. The air was filled with a familiar fragrance. The whole setup was mesmerizing and soothing. There he was still absorbed in his imaginations. The place was his inspiration to write his poetry. He had an amazing art to pen down the beauty of the nature. He was the only person in the whole area who could compose poetry in his native language and he also learnt Persian. He was a man with knowledge and generosity with a sincere and loving nature. His name was Khalifa Rehmat Jan Malang, but people called him Malang which was according to his nature. Lost In his own world.
It took long for him to realize that he had been there for about three hours. He had got lots of work to do and that day he was supposed to go to the nearby village and which took him an hour to reach on foot. He finished his work as soon as possible because he had to reach his home to complete his poem. He honored his art of writing. He was about to leave the village when a group of girls appeared having pots in their hands among them she appeared dressed simply in a blue shalwar kameez. Her female friends called her Yourmas. They were up to fetch water from the river. They were talking to each other and laughing. Malang eyes were freeze on Yourmas.
She was beautiful and elegant rather shy and simple. Anyone could fall in love with her. The group of girls spotted Malang looking at yourmas with an eye of praise. They hurried on their way back and Malang was left wondering about what he saw. After several minutes he helped himself to move and go back to his village. He could not stop thinking about her. He was in Love. That was rather a strange and beautiful feeling for him. He was desperate to tell her about his emotions, but he didn’t had the courage to make it out.
He started going to her village more often. He didn’t saw her always but rarely. But he got a mental peace when he was there, and he always returned blissfully. He said he could feel her fragrance in the air. Due to his usual visits the people started noticing him. Soon the fact was disclosed to the people of the village that he loved one of the girls of the village and that was Yourmas. Rumors spread that they loved each other which badly affected the image of yourmas in the village. She was innocent and had nothing to do with this all. Malang came to her rescue and deliberately said that his love is pure for Yourmas and there is no relation between them and it’s only the one-sided love. Malang didn’t wanted
all this to happen. He was saddened over all this and stopped going to her village. He missed her and wrote poems for her. Their lives changed greatly.
His love for Yourmas was put to a test when he went to a gathering in her village. There were piles of breads made by the women of the village. One of the bread was made by yourmas. Malang was asked to pick the bread yourmas made. He comfortably went near the pile of breads and there were hundreds of them. After a while he picked one and showed to the people that my beloved one has made this bread. The people were damn surprised that he was right and he passed the test. He was then known for his devotion to yourmas.
Yourmas came from a strict family background and did not had permission to engage in any social activity, love was rather a far impossibility. She also had a soft corner for Malang in her heart but could never dare to reveal due to the fear of her family.
Days went by and the sentiments of both grew stronger for one another. They never ever got to talk to each other. They didn’t needed any medium of communication. Their hearts were rather connected to each other
One fine day Malang was busy doing some work when a friend of him came and revealed the bad news to him that his love of life Yourmas was going to get married in a few days. It was the hardest blow to his mind. He lost control and cried his heart out. Everything happened so fast that nor he neither Yourmas could do anything. Soon she got married and moved to another village. For Malang everything was finished his hopes his liveliness. He lost the most precious thing of his life. The people pitied his situation.
There was a hill top in his village from where the new residence village of yourmas could be seen. He always went there and stood freeze looking at that place and he envied the fate of the place to have his loved one there. He said he could feel her fragrance and could feel that she also missed him. He never loved again or married anyone. He dedicated him life to yourmas. Till his death he praised and worshipped her.

Be You

Why are we always into others approval before we do anything?
Do we really think that others know better than us?
I fought this battle of pleasing everyone for a longer time. I did what the people thought was right but it didn’t took me long to realize that its just a trap to distract you from your real self.
At start I thought there is a standard set for everything we do in our life like how to dress, how to behave, how to talk. With the passage of time I observed and learned that the crowd you really wish to please will never appreciate your efforts. Its only after you to make you feel that whatever you did is not accepted socially. Every person has his own colorful world, set goals and aimed objectives. He can create his own diverse universe but what comes in way and makes him like all others are already? The answer to this is The attitude of ‘’What will they say if I do what I am doing”. If there is a socially accepted figure you have to be the same as he/she is to be considered normal and to escape the harsh and cruel treatment of the people. They do kill our originality. They destroy creativity. They cripple creative minds.
Talking about the jury which has its eye on every act of yours the so-called society, who are they actually? Who makes a society? The answer is simply we.
We ourselves do this. It feels bad when this happens to us and at that time its unfair but when time comes to support any other, we act as the jury we start judging then.
So, where the problem lies? It lies within each one of us. If we start accepting people individually our efforts will also be paid. Who are we waiting for to change the customs and make this world a better place to live? Let’s take the initiative to do so. To not be a hurdle in others way and teach them instead should mind our own business and just appreciate the good efforts of anyone.

Rescue yourself

Stepping out of the house may not seem a big deal for men but it does for the women. It’s like getting out of your safe zone and in to the danger zone. We women are not different but are also human beings just like man, but the staring and gazing makes us feel that we are different beings from any other world. We feel like we are aliens. We are never safe in public areas in working areas and even not in the educational institutes. We are the victims of harassment. This really feels insulting. It’s not necessarily sexual harassment but also the lustful looks awful comments and the stalking are the forms of harassment. Being respectable citizen it’s our right to be regarded and to be protected by law.
Whenever this topic pops up we may hear the line which sounds cliché but is considered the sole solution of the problem “if you dress properly no one will stare at you” but even if, we wear a burqah we would be stared, we would be stalked why? because we are women. The burqah or the cover increases their curiosity even more and the problem persists. So there seems no any possible solution for this problem and at last this harassment remains the birth right of the man. Problem is not with the dress it lies in the dirty minds. Harassment is a crime and there is written law for it which states as under.
“Insulting modesty and causing sexual harassment:
“Whoever intending to insult the modesty of any women, utter any word, make any sound or gesture or exhibit any object intending that such word or sound shall be heard that such gesture or object shall be seen by such women or intrudes upon the privacy of such women shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend up to three years with fine up to 50,000 Rupees”
The most interesting part of this whole thing which shouldn’t go unnoticed is about the ones who commit this crime. These don’t land from any other planet they exist among us They are our brothers our fathers. They are always worried about their own daughters and sisters but would never miss a chance to bother or stare at else’s daughter and sister passing by. They would never understand how demoralizes they make us feel with such acts. They cripple our self-confidence forever. Instead of being overprotective for us if our own brothers and fathers start respecting the modesty of other women this problem would be wiped out of our society. We should dare to talk about this, we should raise this discussion in our homes to start a change and to make it happen for the cause of our own safety.

Today it has become a need that every woman should be aware of her rights. They should realize that staying silent is not the solution of this problem but raising voice is. Make your father and brother realize that how it feels when someone’s bad gaze penetrates you, the harsh words enter your ears and the chill of fear when someone intentionally touches you. No one will come to your rescue unless and until you stand for your own rights. Live respectably and make yourself worthy honoring.
